A Great Location
Situated in the heart of Sydney, Australia, just around the corner from Sydney Town Hall, Pitt Street Uniting Church has provided the city with an oasis of spirituality and social justice since 1833.
We are a diverse group and warmly welcome travelers from other parts of the world and locals from all walks of life. We hope to be part of the rhythm of Sydney life. A place where people can feel welcome and accepted as they are, make connections, and get involved.
The beautifully restored neo-classic building offers not only history and grandeur, but outstanding concert facilities. It remains the only full galleried church in the city and is part of the National Estate.
A Great Venue
A hidden jewel in the heart of Sydney, the Pitt Street Church, with seating for over 1000, has superb concert and public forum amenities. Concert musicians regularly report excellent acoustics, and the Pitt Street Congregation is committed to making the space part of the city event landscape.
Hill and Son Organ
The fully restored organ, built in 1910, is a most significant instrument. This organ, along with the Sydney Town Hall organ, are the only examples with a tubular pneumatic action surviving in Australia. It is one of the largest Hill organs surviving unaltered in the world.
Concert Grand Piano
The piano is a nine-foot Bosendorfer Concert Grand which was a one-time studio piano for the Ten Television Network.
